A lot of the time, when I restart the car, everything will be already loaded and within about a minute it will resume playing where it last left off.
The only issue issue is the amount of time it takes to fully load all the info from the USB. you can scroll through the tracks in a playlist with >1000 track with no problem on the HUD or center display (with the artwork for each track!), whereas with a iPod touch or CarPlay, if the playlist is more that 100 or so entries, it will just say "please wait" or something like that if you try and scroll.
